The five best memes about Saturday’s Duck Pond incident
Wednesday, 01 February 2012 22:39

1) The other memes might make you chuckle, but this one's undeniably the best. Saturday's incident has been Facebook status-ed, Twitter-ed and meme-d to death. But if you say you got through the day after without hearing a Polar Plunge joke, you're either a liar or you live under a rock. It was the most popular (or insufferable) joke after the accident - that's why it comes in as our number-one meme.

2) This one’s pretty self-explanatory. MykeyT’s heading to a party up in Boonetown, and casually inviting you to holla if you wanna ride. Get it? If you wanna ride. Into the bottom of Duck Pond. With MykeyT. Stop questioning it so much - it’s funny.

3) Arguably the most popular meme on the ridiculously meme-saturated web, troll guy is the face of snark and sarcasm and are-you-really-that-gullible trickery. Here, he’s trying to convince a couple of innocent freshmen that their Student Undergraduate Orientation Leader should’ve informed them about the extra parking on campus - you know, the parking at the bottom of Duck Pond. But hey, this is Boone. If you can find parking anywhere - even if you’re parked next to a mallard - more power to you.

4) This one’s pretty straightforward. This baby-faced guy is the face of the college freshman meme, which Redditors and Tumblr-ers and other natives of the internet use to skewer first-year collegiates who are heavy on enthusiasm and light on common sense. When four freshmen and a Mustang wind up in a pond full of ducks, is it really such a surprise that he’d show up?

5) No one’s more popular in the social media world than Ryan Gosling. He’s the frequent star of memes like Feminist Ryan Gosling, Ex-Boyfriend Ryan Gosling and even Ryan Gosling Disneyland Cats (yes, that exists). He also recently starred in “Drive,” a movie that features plenty of stunt-heavy car sequences. So when you throw together a crazy driving incident and memes, well...Ryan Gosling is sure to emerge.
