Panel Discussion

A panel discussion presentation for gay, lesbian and bisexual students and interested allies will be held Thursday, Feb. 12, in the Multicultural Center of the Plemmons Student Union.

“The Word is Out” will give students a chance to hear gay students speak out about their lives.

The discussion is sponsored by B-GLAAD, the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership, Multicultural Student Development and the Equity Office.

Refreshments will be served after the discussion.
 

Chamber Players Concert

The Appalachian Chamber Players will perform on Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. in the Rosen Concert Hall.

The concert benefits Pi Kappa Lambda scholarships that are awarded to ASU School of Music students.

Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students with I.D. and senior citizens.

Photograph-Text Exhibit

“Love Makes A Family: Living In Lesbian and Gay Families” will be displayed Feb. 9-20 in the Multicultural Center in the Plemmons Student Union.

The exhibit displays pictures of 20 families with lesbian or gay members.  The exhibit is traveling to communities nationwide.

It can be viewed any time the Student Union is open.

The display is sponsored by the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership, Multicultural Student Development, the Equity Office, B-GLAAD and Diversity Advocates.
 

Concert Information

The faculty recital series program “An Evening of Guitar and Song” has been rescheduled for Feb. 10.

The recital will be held in Rosen Concert Hall.  It will begin at 9 p.m. and will follow the Appalachian Chamber Ensemble concert.
 

Oakland Ballet

The Oakland Ballet will present a matinee performance of The Secret Garden on Sunday, Feb 15 at 3 p.m. in Farthing Auditorium.

The perfomance will be presented by the Office of Cultural Affairs for the Appalachian State University Performing Arts Series.

Tickets are $6 for students and  children 12 and under, $12 for seniors and ASU faculty/staff and $15 for all others.
